Barnett Clutch Springs

Barnett Tool & Engineering was founded in 1948 by Afton and Charlie Barnett. who made control cables for motorcycles. He added items to the line that he imported from England and later invented products of his own. The first part he invented was the Barnett Performance Products #37 cable clamp, which is still made today. Over the years he added his own motorcycle throttles, motorcycle levers, and motorcycle fittings, continually expanding the business. Barnett first started making clutch plates in the 1950's with components for Harley Davidson and European bikes. In 1991, Barnett was the first motorcycle clutch manufacturer to use Kevlar friction material. In 1993 Barnett Performance Parts began using CNC machined aluminum friction plate cores that feature wider drive tabs to reduce wear on clutch baskets. Newer innovations include our "CF" series Carbon Fiber friction plate material and our Scorpion billet clutch assembly for Harley Davidson. In 1999, Barnett Performance Clutch went through a complete makeover when we moved to our new facility in Ventura, California. Not only did Barnett Performance Clutch expand the size of its facility, Barnett added new CNC machines and streamlined its assembly line, shipping line, and computers with the latest high tech systems. All Barnett products are made in the U.S.A. with the finest materials available.
